It was really showing 38°C ? I remember seeing only 31°C…
You forgot to tell story about pony & flowers. On the train we got information from our Kazakh room-mate that in Urumqi where we were going was some disturbances with local groups or something like that. And that we may have problems with entering the China. We decided that we need to look in newspaper for some news. If we will see guns and dead people - then it is bad. If we will see pony and flowers then everything is good. In Almaty where we went to walk Panfilov Park there was a lot of flowers, and surprise, surprise - also black pony with pink hat. So everything was OK.
